AMAX 400 Automated Coagulation Analyze

THE TIME MACHINE

The AMAX 400 l is the largest and fastest of our fully automated hemostasis measuring systems. In keeping with the Amelung tradition, an instrument offering all the advanced capabilities necessary to meet your laboratory's current and future needs. In addition to high-throughput testing with reliable results, the AMAX allows you to tailor your testing needs - coagulation screening or specials, routine or STAT samples - today as well as tomorrow.

The AMAX 400lPlus is unlike any other analyzer. Its unique design includes built-in dual-clotting mechanisms that provide a secondary back-up method.

GENERAL FEATURES
¡ñ High throughput
Approximately 450 PT/PTT per hour
¡ñ Selective multi-channel random access haemostasis instrument
10 optical and 6 mechanical measuring channels
¡ñ Testing Principle
Utilising micro-volumes - clotting mechanical(ball method): 75µl
Utilising micro-volumes clotting - optical testing at 405 nm: 150µl
Chromogenic testing at 405nm, 340nm and 546nm: 150µl
Immunological testing at 405nm, 546nm: 150µl

¡ñ Double detection system: both optical and mechanical modes
All Optical and mechanical measuring modes are used simultaneously. All optical wavelengths may be used simultaneously. If an individual measuring channel is not operating according to specifications it can be locked off leaving remaining functional channels available for use. On-board backup system.
¡ñ Storage capacity for 100 samples
Sample table holds up to 100 samples at any one time. Continuous loading of new samples and removal of processed samples without interrupting processing.
¡ñ Full STAT capability during routine testing - STAT PT in less than 3 minutes
6 STAT loading and measuring positions are available. STAT samples can be loaded without interrupting routine sample processing. STAT samples are prioritised.
¡ñ Storage capacity for 24 reagents
16 positions on rotor for generic and start reagents. 8 dedicated start reagent dispensing positions
¡ñ Single cuvette configuration
Cuvette box holds 90 individual cuvettes each containing a stainless steel ball. Cuvette storage chute holds up to 4 cuvette boxes which can be continually loaded without interrupting sample processing.
¡ñ Free Standing Analyzer
The AMAX 400lPlus is a free standing instrument with its own base cabinet. Base unit is designed to increase the waste cuvette and waste cuvette box storage capacity, to store the fresh and waste water canisters and any accessories and consumables required for sample processing without increasing the instrument footprint. The base cabinet allows the instrument to be moved with little effort allowing easy access for service and maintenance.
¡ñ Minimal system maintenance
Instrument "down time" minimal - daily maintenance 2 minutes, weekly maintenance 30 minutes.
¡ñ Graphic displays of optical reactions
Can be used for trouble shooting unexpected results and application development.
¡ñ Flexible automatic dilution protocols
Dilution ratio <20: sample diluted directly into measuring cuvette. Dilution ratio: <20 sample predultion and transfer to measuring cuvette.
¡ñ Immediate, automatic re-dilute on high/low results
Automatic redilute at higher or lower dilution of tests with calculated results in same processing run.
¡ñ Extensive reflex testing capabilities
Plausibility testing: cross-check monitoring of test result compared to up to 3 other test results.
User defined ranges for reflex testing to same test or up to 3 other tests.
User definable, reflex testing algorithms.
Optical warning when a results falls outside of all of the user defined ranges.
Optical warning when a result falls within one of the two user definable abnormal ranges
¡ñ User defined chartable reports
Laboratories performing special haemostasis testing often require an individualized patient report. The report format can be customized to meet laboratory requirements.

COST REDUCTION FEATURES
¡ñ Reagent volume reduction
Mechanical measuring mode minimum testing volume is 75ul. Optical clotting measuring mode minimum testing volume is 150ul. Chromogenic and immunological minimum testing volume is 150ul. Minimal volumes of reagents for all measuring modes and test types.
¡ñ Reusable reference plasma dilutions for standard curve generation
Using a 1 ml vial of reference plasma to make ONEset of reference plasma dilutions it is possible (by reusing the dilutions) to generate 8 point standard curves for ALL extrinsic and intrinsic factors. No excessive use of reference plasmas when a group of tests are calibrated.
¡ñ Excellent stability of instrument conditions
If fresh reagents (of the same lot # used for calibration) are used each day factor assays are run, extremely stable QC results in the normal and abnormal range prove that frequent recalibration is unnecessary. No compulsory recalibration of factor assays.
¡ñ System rinsing fluid is deionised water.Decontaminant must only be used for specific, user defined reagents e.g. thrombin reagents - no hidden costs.
¡ñ Single cuvette configuration
Cuvette box contains 90 single cuvettes - no strips, no rotors, no wastage.

EXTENSIVE QC PACKAGE
¡ñ Up to 45 individual controls can be defined
¡ñ User definable Westgard Rule activation
¡ñ Optional omission of outliers from QC statistics.
¡ñ Individual QC results can be flagged by operator e.g. when QC material incorrectly prepared
¡ñ Monitoring of QC results user definable: cross control, cross test, cross series and any combination of these.
¡ñ Every single QC result generated is stored in its corresponding QC Chart
¡ñ At lot change results from a new QC file can be appended to an existing file and the means recalculated.
¡ñ QC results can be displayed as a Z-score distribution chart
